Have you ever wondered why we find it so hard to be loved by those who truly love us?
Why do we go looking for love in places where we know its not unavailable?
In people who do not love us and who possibly never will?
And strangely enough, why do we raise such high walls for the people who come to us with ounces of unconditional love?
Because opening up to love makes us vulnerable, and we are so petrified of breaking again, that vulnerability becomes equivalent to weakness. And no one wants to be weak, right?
Wrong.
Being loved is not the same as being vulnerable to being hurt. Being truly loved by someone should be magical- you should feel special every moment of that time when someone else showers all their love on you, sometimes even without any expectation of being loved in return.
And about being scared of breaking, well, someone who truly loves you, will never break you.
Sometimes, the hardest thing to do, is to let someone love you.
But let it happen.
Let someone special fall in love with you, and make you feel like you’re the single most important person of their world.
And then, try to love them back, and see how your life changes.
